Positive Thinking is Great BUT…

On September 30th, 1938 British Prime Minister – and noted “positive thinker” – Neville Chamberlain gave the now infamous speech to the British people in which he declared – after having secured Adolph Hitler’s signature on the “Munich Agreement” (which the Czechs still refer to as the “Munich Betrayal”): “My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honor. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.” A little less than one year later, Nazi Germany invaded Poland (September 1st, 1939) and so began World War II (though, in actuality, the war had begun months if not years before).
